Model History
Pursuit is considered by many to be one of the very finest producers of outboard fishing boat in the country. Quality and attention to detail are hallmarks of this manufacturer. Pursuit is part of S-2 Yachts which also produces Tiara Yachts. Since 1983, all outboard Pursuits have been produced in Ft. Pierce, FL. The 3070 Offshore Center Console was introduced in 1999 and was the first of a number of different models that would be produced with this same hull platform. The OFFCC proved to be an exceptional performer and a very popular model. The boat was retired from production in 2004. Remarkably, there were no major changes to the boat during her 6 year production run. Of the 4 different models that were produced on variations of this hull, the 3070 OFFCC is still considered to be the best fishing platform by those who know and fish Pursuits.
Construction Details
Pursuit uses premium polyester and vinylester resins along with the finest in E-glass knitted fiberglass cloth in the layup of their products. The 3070's hull is solid fiberglass below the waterline and is cored with Baltek balsa core in the hull sides above the waterline. The hull has 21 degrees of deadrise at the transom and features two running strakes and reversed chines. The stringers are a grid system made of marine grade plywood completely encapsulated with hand-laid fiberglass. The deck layup is similar to the hull's but with the balsa coring used to stiffen the walk way areas of the deck. The hull to deck joint is a "shoe box" style that is chemically and mechanically fastened and is covered with a stainless steel rub rail. The entire boat is hand-laid to the highest standards.
Vessel Walk-Thru
Stepping aboard the integrated swim platform on port side, is a transom door that leads to a large fishing cockpit. The transom assembly houses a large fishbox, tackle/bait storage, and fresh water sink/wash down. A large fish box is in the cockpit floor, coaming bolsters are on each cockpit side, and a large bait preparation center is forward. Under the Helm Deck is a large rod storage locker capable of storing up to 12 fishing rods.
The Helm area has a 2 person bench at the helm, large helm with flush mounted electronics, and an aft facing jump seat to starboard. Port side leads forward to the large settee and cabin access. This area is protected by a large wrap-around windshield and factory hardtop. Outboard of the helm area are wide recessed walkaround side decks port and starboard that lead forward. Convenient handrails are mounted on the heavy windshield and the bow rail extends to the cockpit.
Below deck there is a dinette forward that converts to a double berth. Moving aft on starboard side is a nice compact galley with microwave, refrigerator, sink and storage. On port side is a full head with Vac U Flush head. Further aft is a mid cabin single berth/storage compartment.
